While there are many “how to negotiate” programs, this unique, interactive workshop takes you beyond ‘getting to yes’ and guides you through the ethical pitfalls that can undermine your results.

Ethical issues that arise in the course of a negotiation are not always obvious, but they can be fatal. What “ethical negotiation” demands and why is relevant, is not always easy to know or practice. To succeed in negotiation, you must be able to identify and carefully navigate these issues.

Ethics in Negotiation

In our foundations program, over 3 interactive hours, using real life case studies, group discussion and negotiation scenarios, you will learn:

  • Common ethical dilemmas and how they should best be addressed
  • What the “Rules of Professional Conduct” and Codes of Conduct require of you at the negotiating “table”
  • Strategies for deciding on the “right” approach when ethical principles and other obligations coincide
  • Where is the line between “hard” and “unethical” bargaining?
  • How do expectations regarding ethical practice vary?

No matter what your level of experience, this program will benefit you. Using sample case scenarios and exercises, you’ll be encouraged to put your skills to work as you delve deeply into these critical topics.

Advanced Ethics in Negotiations

Designed for professionals with some prior experience, this is a deep dive into some of the more complex issues that arise in negotiations. An afternoon of real life case scenarios and highly interactive discussion and analyses will reinforce and enhance your understanding of how to avoid and navigate the more challenging ethical dilemmas in negotiations.
