Writing is a critical skill for all legal professionals. Editing your work (and others) is just as critical, if not moreso.

Often overlooked – and not taught in law school – proper editing brings organizational clarity and conciseness to any written piece. Whether an agreement, opinion, letter or pleading, this interactive and hands-on workshop will teach you how to develop a more systematic and disciplined approach to editing your work and others.

Through a combination of discussions on common usage disputes, and using excerpts from well-known cases, writing expert Ross Guberman – President Legal Writing Pro LLC; Author; Lawyer & 2016 Recipient of the Legal Writing Institute’s Golden Pen Award – will give you a framework for diagnosing and addressing the major problems that get in the way of clear and concise legal writing. The result? Reduced editing time, with clearer and more concise structured prose. Topics include:

  • Edit for Style
  • Edit for Usage
  • Edit for Structure

The focus is how to make legal prose more concise, how to restructure rambling paragraphs, and how to transition between sentences more effectively.

PLUS! Along with other resources, you will receive a copy of Ross Guberman’s Toolkit with custom models, checklists and answers to the most common legal-writing questions.

To ensure an interactive experience, space is limited. Register now!
