Wade Wright

WADE WRIGHT is currently a doctorate in law (J.S.D.) candidate at Columbia Law School, where, as an Associate-in-Law, he also taught from 2007 to 2010. Wade will also be a Visiting Researcher at Osgoode Hall Law School for the 2012/13 academic year. Wade’s studies at Columbia have been supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and a Viscount Bennett Fellowship. Wade received his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating with the gold medal, and his Master of Laws (with First Class Honours) from the University of Cambridge, which he attended with the support of a full scholarship, the Paul Martin Scholarship.

Wade articled and worked as an associate in the litigation department at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto, and was also a law clerk for Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Wade has published articles in the University of British Columbia Law Review (with Peter W. Hogg), the International Journal of Law, Policy and the Family, the Osgoode Hall Law Journal (with Peter W. Hogg and Allison Bushell Thornton), and the Supreme Court Law Review. He is also a co-author, with Peter Hogg and Patrick Monahan, of Liability of the Crown, 4th ed. (Carswell: Toronto, 2011). Wade’s research interests are constitutional law, federalism, administrative law, Crown liability, tort law, and law and sexuality.
