Robin Parker

Prior to entering private practice, Robin Parker had a diverse career as Crown counsel with the Public Prosecution Service, focusing on organized crime, terrorism and more recently war crimes cases. Her practice has included work on an international level in the extradition and international assistance context, as well as trials and appeals in Ontario and in the north. As a wiretap agent, Ms. Parker obtained and defended Part VI authorizations, and conducted wiretap trials with both domestic and internationally gathered evidence. Ms. Parker recently brought this experience to private practice, representing clients on a broad range of serious criminal and disciplinary matters, with a specialty in cases featuring issues of international law and proceeds of crime. In 2009, Ms. Parker was appointed to assist the Special Advocates, a roster of lawyers with the required security clearance to conduct security certificate litigation under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Ms. Parker recently completed her Master of Studies at Oxford University in International Human Rights Law. Her thesis was on the impact of international criminal prosecution on the peace and reconciliation process in Northern Uganda.

Ms. Parker teaches International Criminal Law in the Professional LLM program at Osgoode, and is also an instructor in the undergraduate trial practice course. She has been a teacher for the National Judicial Institute, NITA, the Advocates’ Society, and has spoken regularly at international law enforcement conferences.
